Community Investment

Project Hunger

Through the Project Hunger fundraiser, SanMar makes a difference in each of the six communities in which we do business. For two weeks, employees participate in fill-your-belly events, raffles and more to collect money and food to benefit their local food bank.

And while employees do their part, so does SanMar. The company generously matches each eligible dollar contributed to Project Hunger.

In 2009, Project Hunger raised and distributed $38,464.02 to six food banks located throughout the country. In addition to the money, a substantial donation of food and other necessary items helped out during the holiday season.

In 2011, we outdid ourselves and raised a grand total of $39,937.74—that's $1,473.72 more than the previous Project Hunger effort. 4,297 much-needed food items were also collected.

Puget Sound Blood Center

SanMar hosts the Puget Sound Blood Center drive at least twice a year, encouraging all employees to donate blood. SanMar has been hosting the drive for many years.

Customer Merchandise Donation Fund

SanMar’s Customer Merchandise Donation Fund supports our customers’ charitable efforts in their communities through donations of apparel or accessories up to $200. SanMar feels strongly about our corporate stewardship and is pleased to support our customers in their charitable efforts. We are, however, limited in the number of projects we can fund and will do our best to adequately support numerous projects in various communities.

Please read the eligibility requirements for receipt of the funds, and to apply. Also, all funds are supplied to customers in the form of a merchandise credit (no cash donations) up to $200.

Employee Charitable Match Program

SanMar matches employee charitable contributions up to $250 per person per year, to any recognized tax-exempt nonprofit charitable organization, as defined under section 501©(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
