In this global economy, some companies want to project a track record of social responsibility—but do little more than pay lip service to it.
Not so for SanMar.
We’ve made a corporate decision to seek affiliation as a participating company with the Fair Labor Association (FLA). The FLA combines the efforts of industry, civil society organizations, and colleges and universities to protect workers rights and improve working conditions worldwide by promoting adherence to international labor standards.
In addition to being socially responsible, SanMar works to be good stewards of the planet. For years, our catalogs have used paper with a minimum of 10% post-consumer waste. Many also meet strict Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification standards. The FSC promotes sustainable forestry and helps decrease the negative effects of logging like water pollution and industrial paper and ink recycling.
As a business partner, you can be proud that SanMar has established global operating principles. You can be confident we’re doing everything we can to help successfully grow your business—while promoting a higher standard of living and minimizing environmental impact.
I hope you enjoy this autumn edition of Fabric. Our feature story explores how you can help clients select apparel and accessories for uniforms or teambuilding activities. We also give some background on two natural fabrics from SanMar: Supima® Pima cotton and modal. Finally, we take a look at our business-building samples program.
All the best,

Marty Lott
President
