To effectively sell apparel, you need to know the correct terms. Here are some common sleeve descriptions.
Set-in: The most common sleeve, which is sewn into the shoulder seam. Raglan: An athletic cut sleeve set with a diagonal seam from the neck to the underarm. Offers more freedom of movement in comparison with set-in sleeves. 3/4: A sleeve that extends from the shoulder to mid-way between the elbow and the wrist. Cap: Generally a descriptor reserved for women’s blouses and T-shirts. A cap sleeve is cut and seamed to fit the shoulders correctly. It is usually loose on the upper arms with the sleeve length slightly shorter than a standard short-sleeved shirt.
